OK ladies-- so I posted a couple of weeks ago that DS2 was having some weird issue that a few hours after he went to bed he'd wake up wide awake---leaving his room and would take anywhere from about 1-3 hours to get back to bed. Some nights it's ok--he does better--but he's still doing this majority of the week. It also takes him about 45 minutes to fall asleep in the first place.
I took him to the pedi to get his ears checked again and she said they are totally fine and that he has all his teeth so not teething (I was really hoping for 1 or the other--how horrible that may sound!!).
So I just have no idea!! I almost think he has some sensory issues because DS1 does and they show so many similarities in that dept. I talked to the pedi about melatonin and she suggested not to take it since there really aren't long-term studies on it. So I just don't know what else to do. Lavender oil isn't working. Our routine is the same very night---nothing crazy--fairly relaxing---and we go to bed the same time (within minutes) each night--which we start the routine of bath at 7pm and then he's in bed around 7:40--but not asleep until closer to 8:30 because he won't stay in his bed and/or can't fall asleep.
PLEASE. I'm DESPERATE.....any suggestions??????

We just went through a horrible sleep phase that lasted ~8 wks. DS had been STTN 3-4x a week and all of a sudden would no longer easily take a nap in his crib and was waking up multiple times a night and hard to put back down. After trying
