Pap smear and bleeding...

Who has had a pap while pregnant and bled after?  The doctor assured me it was normal - but when I looked it up most people reported "spotting".  Right after the exam, when I cleaned up, it wasn't spotting - it was quite a bit of blood. It turned into spotting then almost disappeared around 2 - but now is back (still spotting) and brown...

I know I should trust the doctor - but I spent 10 weeks making sure I don't bleed - and just want to hear from some real life mamas who it happened to...

Thanks for calming my crazy brain!

  • I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Dr did a pelvic exam told me ok you might spot so don't get worry. When I was cleaning up I noticed blood. Ok fine. Today tho off and on when I wipe there's a very light brown discharge. I hope it goes away by
  • I had that too and my doc said it was perfectly normal. She said that our cervix becomes very vascular during pregnancy which leads to blood during a pap smear. Mine disappeared within a day. I would just call the doc if it doesn't stop within a day or tw
  • Great, thanks guys!! Makes me feel better to know people who it actually happened to! I will stop worrying!

  • I had a pelvic exam before my us today and bled a little after. I'll be expecting brown spots for a day or two. It's perfectly normal.

  • My doctor told me I would spot, but I never did. She did stress that it was perfectly normal though!
