Stims Day 3- Question(s)

Good evening all you fine ladies! Quick question for you. I have been taking follistim 200IU, menopur 75iu, and bravelle 75iu all intramuscular. The nurse instructed me to mix them together and do it in one shot. I was reading the boxes today and saw that the menopur says subcutaneous only... I don't want to question their methods, but I'm curious if anyone else has taken their meds this way??

also, I have had zero side effects from the meds so far and I'm just wondering what I should be feeling and when.

TIA ladies!

  • It does seem a little unusual to do those intramuscular but I just went to Freedom Fertility to look at videos and they do show how to inject Menopur both ways. Hopefully it's fine but shooting them all together seems a little unorthodox - I would probabl

  • My RE let you mix them if you are doing an antagonist protocol.  I have seen lots of women doing IM & others sub-q.  Apparently both work.  My RE chooses which to use based on BMI.
    Me - 38 (Endo, DOR) DH- 41 Married in 2003, TTC for 6+ years Dec 2012 - Lap, both tubes removed Jan 2013 - IVF #1 - MDLF, Cancelled March 2013 - IVF #2 - Antagonist - cancelled after ER May 2013 - IVF #3 - TPP Antagonist W/HGH
  • Well my BMI is on the high end (31), so could that be why I am doing them all IM? I just spent so much dang money on these meds, I don't want to screw it up!

  • UPDATE: Doctor said that it is because of my BMI that they switch it to IM. He says it is more efficient this way. Also that it is too soon to start feeling side effects from the medicine yet. All of the girls with experience in this, how long did it take

  • I barely had any side effects.  I did the antagonist protocol. One of the ganirelix days I had a headache and took some tylenol but I was fine after that.  Right before my trigger I started to feel some discomfort in my abdomen and it
