Thought I was 8 weeks, but I'm only 5 weeks apparently

Replying about my message from earlier.

I'm totally confused, my scan only detected the baby sack, therefore they said I'm only about 5 weeks, but going off my last period I should be 8 weeks tomorrow. I think I'm even more worried now as iv been bleeding for 3 days, they could not tell if it is the start of a miscarriage. I am due a further scan on the 8th May, so I'm seriously stressing as today never really helped me at all.

I went in when I thought I was 7 weeks. All I saw was the sac so my doctor told me to come back in a week. I came back 1 week later and saw a heartbeat! I was really off on my calculations. I hope you just miscalculated. T&P are with you.

Omg I'm in the same boat and I'm hoping I just have my dates wrong. I went to the er yesterday for bleeding and cramping. They did an us and they said I was 6 wks with no fetal pole. The Dr said I'm probably to early to see the baby. I have my appt Friday

The same thing happened to me. I was experiencing brown spotting, went in for an ultrasound thinking I was 8 weeks, but the scan showed me at 5 weeks and all they found was the sac.
We went in for our real 8 week u/s and we saw a beautiful heartbeat

It is really hard to know what is going on but when did you get a positive test?  

In both my previous pregnancies I always dated a week behind what I should be but I knew I ovulated later than average so it did

My last MC was on the 27th February, I did a test on the 9th of April, my GP told me on the 10th I was 6 weeks gone. I think I'm losing my baby, as iv bleed for 3 days now.

I O'd a week later then what's considered normal for DS so he was measuring a week behind at our first US. I was charting so I knew when I O'd and he was measuring fine with the o date. It's possible you just O'd later then the norm.
