I've loved the name Emmalyn for years and have planned for it to be my future daughters name. My best friend is pregnant with her second child and has picked the name Emma if it's a girl. Since we are very close, and our children will most likely be growing up together, would it be strange to name my daughter such a similar name?
Re: Naming Issue
Only you can answer this question. Would it feel weird to you?
Emma is a super common name. It's not like either of them will go through life without knowing other Emmas. And anyway, you may never have a daughter. So don't go borrowing trouble. <

My daughter is named Chloe. Her cousin is named Zoie (yeah, totally spelled that way too). They like being the same age and having similar names.

Are you pregnant now?
If not, this could be completely moot, so I wouldn't worry too much about what ifs at this point.
Otherwise, you know your friendship best. Discuss it with her if and when the time comes.
