Preemies

Starting Solids

Hi everyone! I have only posted a few times but I have a question about solids and preemies. I have not been able to find much info on this. My DD was born at 31w 4 d. She is doing great now and is almost 10 lbs. Her pedi gave the go ahead for solids in a few months if she seems ready. I am just wondering when everyone started their preemie on solids. Did you go by actual age or adjusted age? Also, did you go with rice cereal, oatmeal, or skip the cereal all together. Her pedi is saying we MUST go with rice cereal because it is fortified with iron. I EBF and would like to just go straight to fruits and veggies.

I am just wondering what other preemie Mom's have done.

 Thanks!

  • I started at 6 months actual and skipped cereal because everything I read said that's ok. Well my son wasn't really interested in foods for a while and at 9 months we found out he was severely dangerously anemic. Not saying that is why but after we star
