Screenings for disorders

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the bump, and I'm due Nov 15!  I'm posting to see if anyone has advice on whether getting screenings for chromosomal abnormalities in the 1st trimester is work it?  DH and I can't decide...We're low risk, and the tests only tell you the possibility, nothing for sure...so I wonder if it's worth it.  On the other hand, it might be good to know.

With my last pregnancy we did the NT scan just to get the extra ultrasound!

Everyone is different but we won't be... Just because there's nothing we can do if there is a disorder and worrying will take away from the happiness of it all! Good luck!

These are all good points.  I forgot about insurance, I'll have to look into that.  Having a disorder won't change anything for us, and I wonder how much you can really plan financially for a major problem.  Does anyone know if later ultras

I am going to get it done. Mainly so I can see the baby! Also so we can prepare if something does show up. We are low risk but I like to be prepared.

We decided against the testing mostly for the worrying aspect. I get completely paranoid about almost everything I feel. My OB told me that since it didn't make a difference in whether or not I continue my pregnancy that I should probably not do it. I kno
