Hello im whole new to this pregnancy thing, absolutely chuffed to bits, But could you tell me, i took a test about 1 week ago and it said pregnant 12 weeks, however my friend told me that the test doesnt really tell you the accurate amount of weeks, and however long ago the first day of your last period was is how many weeks you are pregnant, is this right? As you can see first time preggers

That's pretty cool! I did not know there were tests that told you how far along you are! Your friend is right though. Most doctors calculate your due date by the first day of your last period. For example, my last period was 2/28/13, so my baby is due 40

If you post from your phone, it takes out all the dashes. Drs start counting pregnancy from your last period, but then they will also usually do an early ultrasound and they can tell how far along you are from that. When you go to see a doctor you just

That pasted all wonky.  Basically, if the test reads 1 to 2, it means you are 3 to 4 weeks pregnant.

When I first read this post my head exploded. Then I reread it and I'm okay now. For the record clearblue digital hpts show up with the word "pregnant" followed by a number (1-2, 3-4, ect) that guesses how many weeks ago you concieved based on it's ass
