How to use an ovulation kit

Hi Everyone,

I'm another newbie. My husband and I are moving into our new house in May and want to start TTC over the summer. As my periods are irregular I've decided to use an ovulation kit but I'm confused on how to use it. When do I start using it? Do you start after you get your period, the day after it ends or whenever you feel like it?

Also, I saw some women say you should use the strips twice a day but the package says to do it once a day.

Information overload over here haha.

 Thanks!

  • I charted and used ovulation test stripes. I knew, based on charting, that I ovulate on cd 15 so I started peeing on the ovulation stripes at about cd 13. I would do it twice a day until I stopped getting a second line and that was cd 16.

  • You're definitely not ignorant. I studied Human Sexuality in college and still knew zip about the complexities of TTC until I actually started TTC. Starter tips:
