I've always loved the nicnkame Bird/Birdie - but would never consider it as a given name. Wren is another GP name of mine.

Willow and River are on my GP list (DH has firmly vetoed both). 

I also really like some of the less-common flower/plant names (as in Dahlia & Laurel rather than Rose & Violet).

I like most flower names (i.e. Lily, Rose, Dahlia) and Iris was a runner up for us.  Besides that, others I like but would probably never use are Willow, Wren, Winter, Sage, Magnolia.....I don't really have any that I like for boys though.</P

My favorites for girls are Willow, Wren, Summer and Autumn. My DD's NN is Birdie! The only boy name I can think of is Sterling and I absolutely love it.

Summer is on our top five list. All the others have been vetoed.

For girls--Fern, Summer, Hazel, Laurel, Amaryllis.

For boys--Rowan. Hawkins is a GP, and that has somewhat of an animal connection. Not big on earthy names for boys.

Boys: Cole, Trent and Oriongp. My son's are Trent and Ryan which is close enough! Cole was a runner name.
