1st Trimester

Help!!

I finally found an OB that is accepting new patients and the earliest they can see me is the end of May. That will put me at 15 weeks at my first appointment. Is it important that I get in sooner, I do not want to put my baby's health in danger, but I am having an awful time finding a doctor! This is my first pregnancy and I appreciate the advice!

Re: Help!!

  • Can you see a family practitioner then switch to the OB? Even a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant is trained enough to help you at the beginning

  • I think if you were wanting to do any of the genetic testing that may be after the window, like the NT scan I think is between 13 and 14 weeks.

  • That is only 6 weeks away. Why did it take you that long to find an OB? How far along were you when you found out? I know that if I didn't already have an OB, I would have been calling every doc in the phone book or every doc that accepted my insurance
