one N

Do you think it's mean to name my daughter Giana? She will probably always have to say "Giana, with one N".Or is it not that big of a deal? What do you think? TIA!

Please ignore my ticker, I have changed my mind on this poor childs name a million times.

Re: one N

  • I am a sucker for traditional spelling so I would say use Gianna.

I do think she will probably have to say "Giana with one N" if you chose that spelling.

  • i agree. Spell it the "correct" way, save her some frustration and it doesnt change the pronunciation of the name at all.

  • I suppose it matters why you want this particular spelling. Is it to honor someone special? If not, why not two Ns?

In a world of Ryleigh-with-a-G, Giana-with-one-N isn't awful. If there's a reason for it, it wouldn't bother me.

  • I visually prefer Gianna. But, I don't think that this is the worst change of spelling. I love Tessa, btw!

  • My name is Gianna.  The proper way to spell it in Italian is Gianna.  Giana looks wrong to me.

I would do 2 N's to avoid any confusion. Love the name Gianna by the way. And yes, I like it much more than Tessa.</div
  • Gianna with 2 N's is the only way to spell in my opinion. That is the original spelling and the onlu 1 I consider legit.
