Babies: 9 - 12 Months

for those who've used the cry it out method.

Ive read several articles,  some saying how bad it is for the baby from abandonment issues to high blood pressure and agression whereas others say it helps teach them to self soothe. Well my LO used to be a great sleeper but now shes terrible. She fights about an hr every night to go to sleep before she gives in. Well im sick of it quite frankly so I want to try the CIO method. Have you seen any thing negative as a result of using this method?

  • Are you serious: abandonment and high blood pressure?  Was the article written by an Attachment Parent?

We've used this with DD and, well, she is only 9 months so it really is too soon to tell whether she has suffered any permanent da

  • We usually have a good sleeper but are are nights when he wants to eat just for eatings sake. If he's been in a good sleep pattern for days and then changes to this we let him cry it out.

We do 10 minute intervals. Once he cries for t

  • So my girl was a great sleeper since the first month. Then about 5 weeks ago, it all went south. It started when she was able to pull herself up. At first it was going into her room and rocking get back to sleep. Then she would wake up as soon as

  • The only thing I've noticed is how much happier my LO wakes up in the morning! We ended up doing extinction because the frequent checks made it a lot worse for him, and within a couple of nights he was sleeping great at night. Now, at almost 11 months,

  • My son also wakes up in a good mood and is a very happy baby in general. Using CIO helped his naps big time which made him better throughout the day instead of cranky. He is extremely sweet and loving too. He shows tons of affection (kissing, hugging,

  • We tried Ferber but it didn't work for us. Sleep got better for about a week and a half but then went south again. One complication for us is that he still MOTN nurses and pediatrician doesn't recommend night weaning yet. So, we couldn't really be 100% co

  • Both my kids became happier more well rested babies once we did sleep training!

DS1 is almost 2.5 and I think he's the greatest toddler in the world. Happy, smart, funny, wild, full of energy. And he still takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and

  • This stuff is just ridiculous to me. Sorry. I said it. We let little man "cry it out" I guess..but not by abandoning him. It wasn't anything I read in a book. Just something that I came up with after talking with my mom and some friends. He was 6 month

  • I have read so many articles on this and honestly, my honest opinion - it depends on your baby!  is your baby high strung, is your baby mild mannered - you know, its all about your baby as an individual -

Now, the CIO method, it doesnt wo

  • We've also done sleep training. All we've noticed is a much happier more rested baby, who can put himself to sleep at night and when he wakes up in the MOTH. I researched a few books online before purchasing The Sleep Easy Solution. You just need to do

  • Our DD expressed the same issues your LO is showing. She refused to go to sleep when it was time, she woke 3-4 times and the final straw was waking up just to get in bed with us. I made the executive decision at 3AM that we were going to let her CIO and 1
