cerclage success rates / stories

I'm starting the 19th week of my pregnancy with twins and am already faced with a shortened cervix of 25mm. I had a leep done about 10 years ago so I'm curious if I have any real chance of success should I endure an emergent cerclage. Do I have any hope? What's the latest the dr can wait before it's no longer an option? Please help....I'm so scared!

I don't have any personal experience but just wanted to say GL! Hopefully if they're recommending it your OB has hopes in it working.

Good luck hun and I hope your cervix can hold up. I just had a cerclage placed last week. 22 weeks 6 days at the time. It was a scary experience, since this is the first time that I have had to deal with something like this. But I trusted my mfm doctor

Aww thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I suppose my fear started when I discovered there are some risks with the cerclage, like a sac gets punctured and miscarriage. Perhaps my condition doesn't fall into the category of that sort of outcome....ju

I had a cerclage placed at 21 weeks when I was 1 cm dilated and 100% effaced. It was very scary,  but I carried my boys until my scheduled c-section.  No one thought I would and I truly believe it was the cerclage that did it!

I had a cerclage at 21.6 weeks with my twins. I'm at 24.2 today. I haven't had any PTL. I do have an irritable uterus. I've heard lots of great success stories and am so thankful they found it when they did. Hard not to worry some but I'm trying to have F
