Mouth phase

When does the "must put all the things in my mouth!!" phase end? Does it end? We had fun at the children's museum yesterday but I was uncomfortable with her putting everything in her mouth, knowing so many babies were doing the same thing. And I didn't want her playing in the bigger kids areas bc I know their parents wouldn't want their kids playing with stuff that had been in her mouth. Oh, and the dog toys here at home! I hate when she gets one in her mouth before I get to her.

ETA: is it ok to teach her "not in your mouth"? I know babies learn from putting things in their mouth so I don't want her to miss out on learning.

DD is almost a year and we're still in that phase. I'll let you know if it ever ends!

It takes a while!  I can't remember how old DS was - probably around 15-18 months when he became super picky and stopped eating everything I gave him.  DD#1 was almost 2!  She still will put random things in her mouth on occasion and she is

At 20 months my son doesn't do it with everything but still a lot of things. He will try to eat dog food even though he's tried it before and knows it doesn't taste good.

Gavin is 18 months and I had to take something out of his mouth this morning. My little boy still loves to put things in his mouth. But yeah, it's gross!
