Mobile: Sleep...can I have your thoughts?
DS will be 4 months next week. Heres the shortened version: basically once DS turned 2 months he has trouble crossing over to the next sleep cycle. During the day he only sleeps exactly 30 minutes with an occasional 45 minute nap thrown in. During the night he goes down around 7:30 and sleeps great until 12 or 1 (I feed him during this time). From there, he's up every 45 minutes, similar to his nap problems once the sleep cycle is over.
He doesn't want to eat and is not hungry, just needs comfort and will usually go right back down once I put the paci in. He is swaddled still so he can't self soothe with his fingers. I also have to put him down completely asleep, which I've read isn't great for helping babies learn to self soothe if they wake up. Obviously the constant wake ups are getting exhausting. The good news is that he sleeps in his crib for naps and bed.
Would you:
-Wean him from swaddling or leave one or both hands out so he can attempt to self soothe with his hands (even though previous attempts have been a disaster as he can't settle his arms yet very well)
-Try to wean him from the paci so he's not dependent on me putting it in and continue to swaddle even though rolling is right around the corner (he can roll stomach to back with lots of effort)
- Wait it out and keep doing what I'm doing in hopes that he will grow out of the 45 minute wake time.
- Try having him nap in a swing so he can attempt to fall asleep by himself but risk him refusing the crib in the future.
Wow I know I need to just chill out but I'm exhausted and getting desperate Any other suggestions?

I would be exhausted, too! You poor thing.
I would try weaning him off of the swaddle. That was where we started with DD, right around his age, too. It might be a tough transition, but hopefully it will pay off. GL!

Thanks ladies, I think I will try to deswaddle him, starting with one hand out first. I tried a few days ago but it was a disaster but I know how quick things can change. He is getting close to when I'll need to stop swaddling him anyways and the hope

Since you can time it so well, it may help to anticipate him. Set an alarm for you and replug him right before the 30 minutes are up. That way, he'll hopefully wake up and go back to sleep on his own.
