Tilted uterus....

So when I had my first US on Monday I was told I have a tilted uterus. The doc said 1020 of women have this but nothing else about it. Anyone have this too or know if there are any risks or dangers due to this? I'm a bit worried as this is my first pregnancy.

Re: Tilted uterus....

  • I have a tilted uterus (retroverted) my doctor said it doesn't effect a pregnancy and usually by the 14th week the weight of the uterus puts in back in a normal position.

  • I have a tilted uterus and my doctor said it isn't a problem ... It's just something that happens...
  • I had one with my last pregnancy and it corrected itself by the time I was in my 2nd trimester.
    Little one is here.
  • A tilted uterus doesn't affect your ability to get pregnant. And it shouldn't affect your pregnancy at all either.

I have a tilted uterus too. It's nothing to worry about and won't cause any problems with your pregnancy. The only thing my dr said was you may not show as soon. I didn't pop until about 22 weeks and I'm super skinny so I felt like she might be right.

  • I never even knew that I had a tilted uterus until I was I labor with 3
  • I also have a retroverted uterus. My OB says it won't cause any problems. It's was more difficult to find the yolk sac during my US with my last pregnancy they had to put the wand way down on pelvic bone and then tilt it upwards.
  • When I had my HSG in Feb, I could see that my uterus was tilted and my doctor said it wasn't a problem and wasn't a cause for my miscarriages or anything like that.

  • I have it too. Clearly it hasn't given us any issues.

  • I have one, too. Tilted, retroverted, retroflex. They are all the same thing, I think. It does make the transvaginal ultrasound more uncomfortable because they have to fish around the see things clearly. And it can make a heartbeat harder to hear at first

  • I have a tilted uterus too. I was told it could possibly make getting pregnant take longer, but as long as DH's sperm was healthy it wasn't likely.
It should have no effect on your pregnancy, and as PP said, it will likely correct partway through

  • It's a normal variation of uterus position. No added risks or complications. At some point it will flip into more normal positioning. Mine is extremely tipped.
  • Thanks so much everyone for helping to ease my mind! I appreciate it. :
