Help for those with m/s

I'm now convinced abut this...So I'm a healthy gal; healthy diet and exercise regularly. Since this is my first pregnancy after a loss, I privately let my body pump instructor, Brooke, in on the news so she could give me any advice or precautions I typically hit the weights pretty hard. Well I guess I forgot to mention that it was a secret, because the next day in class, one of the other regulars was slacking on the squat track and Brooke points at me and yells "C' mon! If the pregnant girl can do it, so can you!" Umm, wow. Anyway it turned out to be great because then seriously half the regulars in the class revealed that they're pregnant too! I'm so excited to have some gym friends for support, too! So after class we were all talking and one of the things we discovered is that none of us have had any negative symptoms so far, including morning sickness. Eight pregnant women ranging from 5weeks to 19 weeks along, and NO MORNING SICKNESS. Only a few of us have som bloating, that's it. In fact, the 16 weeks lady is still wearing skinny jeans and dosent look pregnant at all. Anyway, apparently regular exercise is doing the trick for us. Just wanted to share. Personally, the fatigue is making me want to skip the gym, but I haven't given in yet, and honestly I feel really amazing, though I know its early on. I'm hoping that trend continues, though. I hope this helps those that are feeling bad and vomiting! It makes me so sad to read about the sick ladies. I absolutely HATE throwing up and I cannot imagine doing it for 12 weeks. :/

  • I work out regularly, running 1518 miles a week and yoga 23 times a week bikram and regular practice and I have been queasy for a solid week....in my reading it looks as though symptoms are different for every woman. But, good for you and your gym mates :

    The people who do not have bad ms are at the gym because they are able. Those who are having bad symptoms can't be there. This does not mean that working out causes a decease in symptoms. Correlation vs. causation.

  • You've got it backward, exercise doesn't cure m/s. the fact that you don't have m/s is allowing you to exercise.

    Plus, body pump is lame. Lift something heavy a few times instead of 100 reps at light weight.

  • I appreciate you trying to help, but as people have pointed out, the very sick women probably can't go to the gym or may be exercising in a less strenuous way. I have HG, and the activity I can handle is pretty minimum.

  • I taught 20 competitive dance classes per week when I was pg with dd. I was in great shape... And puked everyday for 5 months.
