Question about betas and bloat!!

My betas are tripling instead of doubling every 48 hours as of Wednesday and I have a very distinct "pooch". I'm barely 5 weeks and I'm a runner so, as recently as last Sunday (day before BFP), I was feeling good! I ran a half marathon that day and aside from being tired, pants fit, body looked normal. Is this normal for a single pregnancy? Or has anyone had this experience and had it be twins? They run in my family (both grandmothers and an aunt and uncle) and in my husbands family (uncles). And this might be a dumb question but, that's something they could tell on Tuesday's ultrasound right? At least if they are fraternal there would be 2 sacs? I'll only be around 5w6d at that appointment but they wanted it this early so, they're getting it.

Betas can indicate the possibility of multiples, but only an ultrasound can tell you if you have more than one LO in there. You'll just have to wait and see.

Like RLA said, betas can indicate multiples but many women have high betas and a singleton. My first few betas had a doubling time of 26-30 hours and we definitely only have one baby. As for the bloat, singleton or multiple, its really common!

Definitely a possibility, esp if they run in your family.  My betas with ID twins were 297 14DPO, 794 16DPO, and 2094 a week later (or something like that).  At our 1st u/s (5w,4d), we only saw an empty yolk sac.  At our next u/s (6w,5d)

Fraternal twins are genetic and they tend to run on the maternal side of the family. So, if your DH has twins in his family it's completely irrelevant.

The only way to know for sure is at your U/S.

The stomach thing is from bloat, which is very common this early.

As for the betas, it could go either way. I've had betas almost triple every 48 and it be a singleton. When I was pg with twins, my betas just over tripled. This time, my beta

My betas were at 4600 during my 4th week with only one sac. This week at 5 weeks 3 days there was a sac with a yolk and an empty sac. We go in at 7 weeks to see if the second sac developed or not. The second sac was smaller. It's really hard this earl
