I know I vented about my daycare center the other day, but that's the only time they've irritated me and they've reminded me this week why I love them.
On Wednesday afternoon, dh showed up to find DS and the male teacher digging in the dirt to find worms. Apparently DS saw a big worm that he called "super worm", and he and the teacher decided it could fly, so they looked for it. I realize not everyone appreciates a muddy kid at the end of the day, but we do... And I love that his teachers will get muddy for him.
Today really touched me. His teachers know I've been looking for the old version of the Lego trains. They're DS's favorite toy, and we don't own it. Once we move, he'd be separated from his favorite toy. His teachers have regularly asked if I'd had luck. Today they gave us a huge garbage bag full of the Legos and trains. They were spares in the back they didn't use. The director remembered them and dug them out for DS so he would have his toy. He plays with these things ALL DAY.
These are the toys. They could use a bath, so that's what ds is doing this evening. He is thrilled! I wish I could move this center with us.
Re: Good daycare story within
That is really sweet!
Awwwww
I am a lurker, but I love this story.
Our daycare has this awesome outside playground butthe parents have started coplaining about the kids being dirty when they are picked up. I don't understand- they are kids, they are dirt magnets!
