Missing my part-time schedule

I know everything in life is a tradeoff, but ...

I used to work a job that was sort of dead-end, but I had an awesome schedule: 3 days a week, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. I could leave work, go to the gym, pick up DS and still have time to prepare dinner, not rush around. And, of course, we had two days a week that we were home just us.

When I was pregnant with DD, I took a new job, which is WAY better career-wise and pay-wise, but it's full-time. Mostly, I don't mind working F-T, but recently it's been so crazy at work that I find myself really missing my P-T job. I just feel like every day is jam-packed. I get up at 5:30, work until 5 p.m., get the kids, DH and I rush through dinner, baths, bed, finish all the night-time chores and collapse in a heap so we can get up and do it all over. I am so glad right now that it's Friday.

  • I can understand missing the extra time you had.  When I came back from my maternity leave this time I talked to my boss about using 2 hours of my vacation time a week to leave at 2:00pm every Tuesday.  It's amazing how just that extra 2 hours o

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
