BG 4.0 insert question

For those of you who use BG 4.0's, how long did you use just the newborn insert? My 4.0's have been leaking almost every time lately, and I was thinking maybe it's time to add the bigger insert...but my son is only 7 weeks old!

I never used just the newborn insert, but I didn't start cloth diapering until 2 months old. If the insert is pretty well saturated, switch. Or just switch to the larger insert and see how it works. However, if the insert is dry, you may have repelling

Thanks, sarenu1. The insert is saturated, so I will try the bigger one and see what happens!

Ditch the newborn insert. We always had leaks until switching. We only use the newborn inserts as overnight doublers.

I didn't realize the thin one was a NB insert, I just figured it was an extra for more absorbency later. I started with the regular insert and added the NB for overnight until that wasn't enough and now she uses a hemp insert with the regular one.
