I just purchase a used Gemini, but I just realized that the previous owner cut off the head rest straps. Did you use the head rest up very often? Should I look for a new one or try to sew on some new straps? Or do you think it is ok as is?
Also did you usually criss cross the straps or use the backpack stye with the chest strap?

Re: XP: Beco Gemini: how useful is the head rest in the up position?
I've only had the opportunity to use mine a handful of times now. I only had the headrest up when DS was facing inward. Now that he's bigger he sits facing out and so I snap the head rest down and tuck the traps underneath.
As long as I'm c
I use it up when he's napping, otherwise I have it down.
I've only ever criss-crossed the straps.
I only put the headrest up,when he is sleeping facing in, which was common when he was little. I've only just recently heard you could wear it backpack style, I criss cross because it feels more supportive.
That sucks someone cut them
