Talking question

I watched Racheys vidoe today and I am super jealous that her little guy can talk so much. Michaela has words she can can say and other people know what those words are but she doesn't say anymore than one word at a time. She babbles all the time but no real words.
At her 18 month appt her Dr wasn't worried about it and neither am but jist wondering is there more talkers out there or babblers?
I figure she is going to just start reciting "War and Peace" one day. Hehe

Re: Talking question

  • Well she for sure has more than 10 words. Even without her animal sounds. Like I said I am not worried about it just wondering.

  • I wouldn't be worried. Both of my boys spoke in sentences at this point, but L is four and can't write his name and J doesn't run yet. They're behind on motor skills for sure.

I think 10 ish words is totally normal for this age.

  • We are in the same boat. DS knows all his animal sounds and a handful of words. He points and gestures all day long and understands everything.

He actually qualified for EI in speech last week but they didnt seem that concerned. PM me if you

  • DD is up to about 30 words.

She uses "NO!" a lot more than I think she means to, but she think it's funny to say no to everything right now. She's starting to use two word phrases like "open this," "up, please" and "NO! Mine!" She also LOVES repeat

  • We get hi, kitty, and num-num regularly.  Also pointing and grunting.  Dh heard bye and I know we have sorta heard some others.  He babbles too.  I wish he would communicate more but not too worried yet.  His uncle was a late talk

  • At her 18-month checkup, DD2 only had a handful of words. She's made HUGE progress since and is now up to using two-word phrases (like "Maman-Coat" or "More-Milk" or "Non-Maman", you get the idea). We're nowhere near saying "I'm trying to watch baseball"

DS has recently started doing more two-word phrases, mostly "Mama shoes" or "boo
