XP Skipping sippy cups?

Anyone else thinking of skipping the sippy cup when the time comes? Or any STMs that have skipped them with previous LOs? I've been trying to find some good info on it, and have only been a little successful. Babies figured out how to drink from cups before sippy cups existed, right? Anyone who has done it before, when did you start giving LO a little cup to practice with?

  • I was told by my pedi that it would be smarter to skip them. He was basically saying, "just so I don't have to wean DS off a sippy" I guess.

I'm not sure what I'll do. On one hand, it's less to buy, but on the other hand, I think sippy cups are r

  • I have the lip tilted cup or whatever it's called, it's a fine cup.  I use sippy cups all the time, there was no weaning, my son uses a cup just fine without a lid if I want, but since he is a toddler he doesn't pay attention to where he's putting it
  • We used a lidded straw cup and a shot glass.  Straw cup if I wanted DS to actually drink a lot and shot glass to practice since it was proportional to his hand size.

I went with straws because they are everywhere.  Restaura
