short cervix?

I went to the doctors two weeks ago for an ultrasound anatomy scan at 21 weeks, the baby was uncooperative so they decided to do an internal exam as well. Come to find out my cervix was short, measuring 2.1. I went back for a two week check up yesterday to find out it slightly shortened and with pressure on my stomach it dropped to 1.5. I was prescribed progesterine and have a check up in one week. Out of curiosity any other mothers have this issue? And if so what precautions were taken and what was the outcome?

I was just placed on progesterone, but no bed rest yet, i have a check up in one week, how has the progesterone helped you? any improvement?

I had similar stats last pregnancy and made it to 39.5 weeks with modified bedrest.
