I'm exhausted!

Sorry this is a whiny post.  Feel free to skip it if you don't want to hear be whine.

M's been sleeping & napping really well lately.  He started STTN 4-5 nights ago from 8p-5:30a or 6a, and takes a 2-hr nap in the morning.  He usually takes a 1.5-hr nap in early afternoon, then a 45-min nap in late afternoon.  The 45 min nap is never enough,he wakes up crying (instead of happy like his other naps), but I can't get him to nap longer.  Anyway, he's a happy baby all day until he wakes up from his 3rd nap (~ 5:30p) and then fusses until bedtime.

Well, today he decided he'll be a 45-min nap fuss.  It's a little after 2pm right now and he's already woken up from his 3rd  (45-min) nap for the day.  He has been basically screaming his head off each time he woke up after his 45-min nap.  I wouldn't have minded the short naps if he woke up happy.  But he has been miserable since 9am when he woke up from his 1st nap.  Nothing I do can calm him down (rocking, bouncing, singing etc) except when he's on my boob.  I've nursed him 6 times already today (it's only 2:30pm)! 

I don't know if this fussiness is due to his 2nd tooth cutting through?  I gave him some tylenol earlier today and it made no difference.  I vaguely remember him being more fussy when his first tooth came last week but nothing near this degree!  Another thought is that I gave him some yogurt this AM and at lunch, so wonder if he's not tolerating the yogurt?  He's been tolerating all sorts of food without any problem though...

Anyway, just want to vent.  Thanks for listening.

the only thing I can say is sometimes they just go through fussy phases. mine will do the same thing, sleep through the night one week and the next they wont sleep at all day or night.. hopefully it passes soon and he gets a little happier!!

Poor M and poor pb! It's so hard when they are so tired and just wont sleep. Hopefully it's just a tooth or just a bad day and your little guy will be back to sleeping well tomorrow. And hopefully you can get some rest too!

Thanks ladies.  I feel really bad about being so whiny, esp when *most* days things go pretty well for us!

I'm really sorry. My boys have been struggling with their afternoon naps (also 30-45 minutes with about a 10 minute overlap)  and I've been feeling SO EXHAUSTED at the end of the day! Naps are like gold and it is hard work to deal with a grumpy LO

So glad his 4th nap was better pb. And I'm sure you are plenty motherly of a mother. I think even the most motherly of mothers gets irritated with having a baby that is fussy all day long. I complain a lot about having to WOH, but my hat is off to SAHMs.

Could just be a bad sleep day. Hopefully he gets some rest tonight and wakes up happy tomorrow!

I get this way if LO is fussier for one hour more than normal so I totally understand. I've been reading a little about the won.der weeks and have no clue if that would apply to M here?

I don't know if its at all related but DS was like this the first time he had yogurt, too. I still continued to give it to him but just not as much as I did that first day. Who knows though, maybe its just a coincidence.
