Sleeping

Could use some advice:

When my DS wakes up at night - only once - he doesn't always eat, but is always satisfied with being held. Assuming that he is waking up and not putting himself back to sleep because he "knows" I will comfort him.....how do I attempt to break him of this habit? I would like to transition him to his own room, but not until I dont' have to worry about dragging my but all the way upstairs every night at 4am.  

I put him down drowsy to sleep as often as I can, but don't know what else to try.

Eh, at 6 months old, once a night isn't bad.

Agree with pp, at 6 months, waking once a night is normal and not bad at all.  If you want to encourage sleeping through the night, I would suggest going ahead and moving him to his own room.  If he knows how to fall asleep on his own and wakes

Hold him.  It is really ok. It doesn't last.  It is a stage.
