I'm not a huge fan of overly popular names, and I was surprised to learn that Natalie was ranked #13 for girls names last year. I haven't heard it used at all in my area and I don't know anyone named Natalie. I'm more concerned with it being considered trendy than the fact that it might be popular.
So, I have two questions.
1.) How popular is the name in your area?
2.) Would you consider it trendy?
TIA!
Re: Natalie
1) It's fairly popular in my area.
2 ) I dont view it as trendy

It depends on what you mean by "trendy". I consider it definitely a Millennial name and not a traditional choice. Trendy would mean following current trends which in my area are names with nickname Bella/Ella, Sophia, and Olivia. I
1) I don't know any baby Natalies personally-- but I don't really know a lot of babies in general. The name comes up quite a bit on this board.
2) I would not consider Natalie trendy at all

There are quite a few that I know of around here, but I don't think its super popular.
DD is named Natalie and I work in an elementary school of 500 kids. I've got two Natalie's here.
Of course I'm biased, but I think it's a choice that will suit her as a young child and as an adult.
