cold/allergies?

DS started daycare last Thursday.  Sunday night he was all stuffed up and his nose was snotty.  Since then he's been a bit stuffed up but no fever and he's been happy and active and himself.  this morning he woke up with his face covered in snot!!! it was all over his cheek (he sleeps on his belly now and I think his face was plastered into the sheets) and his sheets.  I tried to suction him but nothing came out.  he seems fine so I'm wondering if it is possible that it is allergies. We are having insanely high pollen right now and I have a history of horrible sinus issues.  I'm a FTM so I have no idea how to know if it is a cold or not... and if so,thank goodness we waited this long to get him in daycare! UGH I would have been a disaster this winter!!!

He hates saline and suction. Yesterday I wrestled him and did it and got a huuuge payday but he hates it and I rarely get anything. Any tips??
