I was just promoted at my job in New York (yay!) BUT my husband matched at a medical residency program in California so he will be moving in early June. My first goal is to convince my job that I can work out of the San Fran office but if they say no should I:
1) Quit, move with my husband and be poor in CA (and look for a new job of course, a new job that will hate me when I tell them I am already pregnant).
2) Stay in New York as long as I can stand being alone, save money, and move when it gets to be unsafe to be alone and pregnant (maybe 6 months pregnant)? Then collect unemployment for 6 months (unless somebody hires me while I am showing, which is doubtful).
What would you do if you were me?

For me it would depend on what you do and your job prospects. If you have an in-demand career, then I would just move. But with the current economy, I'd most likely stay in NY and keep applying to other places.
Hopefully you'll be able to work fr
