Kaiser Question

Does anyone know if Kaiser will do any of the new blood tests that screen for the disabilities, Harmony, Verifi, or MaterniT21?  Just curious if anyone knows.  Or if Kaiser doesn't can they order it for you and you pay out of pocket?  Thanks.

    Yes, they offer Verifi.  However, it was not yet approved as a covered benefit at the time I spoke with the genetic counselor and the cost was $495.  She told me that it will be a covered benefit very soon, so I would recommend asking about it.

    Kaiser told me it would be available in mid-June 2013.  Kaiser genetics will give you a kit, send you to the lab, draw your blood and then FED EX it to Verinata. We had to pay $500 though because it was May.

    basically same answer as them. .when I asked  (was due in june, but had dd in april) earlier this year they mentioned it becoming approved soon, but yeah as far as I know still available but out of pocket for now.
