Lurker here. I know I read that you are only supposed to RF up to a combined weight of 40lbs. My Britax specifically says it can be rear facing up until the child is 40lbs but the weight of the seat is 19.5 lbs. Do any of you know does the new rule trump the specific seat specifications/recommendations? My son is 29lbs so obviously over the 40lb combined limit. Below is from the Britax website.

There is no rule saying children shouldn't RF past a combined weight of 40 lbs. You are thinking of the rule for using the LATCH system. Seats should be secured using the belt system once the child and seat reach 40 lbs combined. You can absolutely kee
