Hey ladies! I know I haven't posted here in forever but I needed to vent and knew you guys would understand.
I had to suddenly stop BFing my DS last week because of health issues. I was in the hospital for serval days and had to have kidney stones surgically removed. I couldn't nurse him because of all of the anesthesia and narcotics. My mom then took him to her house for several days so that I could have time to recover. Prior to all of this, he still breastfed multiple times a day. I wanted him to self-wean, but unfortunately I couldn't control the surgeries. I feel so horrible and can't stop crying. I should be ecstatic that I don't have to worry about weaning him, but I just feel so sad. He asked for milk tonight for the first time since he's gotten back and I still had to say no because my last (thank God) surgery was today so I still have a ton of meds in my system. Also, I'm pretty sure all of my milk has dried up since I haven't done any pumping this whole time. *sigh*
Anyway, I don't think there's anything I can do at this point, but I just needed to vent to someone who understood.
Re: Beating myself up
Don't beat yourself up! You nursed for almost two years!!! DO you realize how awesome that is!!!?!!!
Be proud!
You seriously did great!
Thanks y'all. You're all right and I am proud to have made it so long.
Mananana- I think you're totally right about my hormones. They are out of control! DH has been able to distract him and tell him that mommy is sick and can't give him mi
I am sorry you had to wean so abruptly. I agree that you should be very proud for making it that long, though. That in itself is an accomplishment. I am sure you and LO will find new ways to bond and share unique "mommy and me" moments.
Good luck
