Food Allergy

frustrated.....

My Lo started exhibiting issues around 3-4 weeks. Full facial rash and around the neck. Started him on Nutramigen which eased the fussiness, arching and the rash, but we were still getting blood and mucus in his diapers. Before trying Elecare, we opted to try Soy since my older son was on Nutramigen and then soy. Well now the stools seem better (no mucus or blood but pea green peanut butter), but I am worried the facial rash is coming back and he has a little issue with fussiness with burping. He also now had two dry patches on his shoulders. It has been 2 1/2 days on the soy. How much longer do I wait to see if this fixes things? Am I jumping the gun? We also on both the Nutramigen and soy we have quite a bit of coughing and nasal congestion/boogies. Is it time to just go to Elecare. For some reason, I am so nervous to change to that.

Re: frustrated.....

  • Okay unfortunately milk allergy they say 3-5 days to get out of the system for bfing.  So I'd say the same for formula.   And even after that it can take awhile for skin to clear up.  Have you been to an allergist yet?   Milk maybe not be the only allergy meaning clothing a, mattresses etc.   you can remove the food but if there's other items at home.
