When using a Ruck under the Bum back carry, I see that the wrap goes over the legs and under the bum. There is never any fabric under the legs. How does that keep the baby secure on a back carry?

Not sure what you mean there's no fabric under the legs? Baby sits in the pocket of the wrap (which comes out to her knees) and then the knot goes under the bum (really more under the legs for a bigger baby).
I meant that the tails didn't go between the legs and the wearer. But, I do see what you are saying. I mean, people use this carry so I trust that it IS fine, I was just curious why the tails go around the way they do instead of running between baby and

Ah, well if they went between baby and wearer then they wouldn't support baby Are you thinking about how in ruck tied in front the passes go over and under baby's legs? The knot in RUB is like the place where those passes cross under baby's
