Hi. Was just curious as to how you can be sure references are real? I'm so done with bad babysitters. I've heard of people using their friends to lie and say that this person worked for/with them, blah blah blah. Does care.com or sitters.com do background checks?

I paid to background check out sitter and her husband since he WFH and would have contact and possibly be watching my kids too.

I know care.com provides background checks with paid subscriptions. We used it when looking for daycare. But a clean check doesn't necessarily mean they're awesome. We interviewed plenty of douches before finding the right fit for us. Good luck on your se

If I do find someone, and their background is clean, I'm serisously thinking of getting a nanny cam. I have had bad luck with babysitters, and from now on, I will not be using someone a friend recommends without doing a background check.

Also just found that I could get an FBI and MN background check done for $36.50. Yay!
