carseat

I am trying to decide between the Chicco KeyFit 30 and the Graco SafeSeat.  Any suggestions? I've heard the Chicco seat does not fit into grocery carts, etc.  I

Re: carseat

  • We have the Chicco. It does not fit as well in "buggies" as the Graco I had for R. If I had it to do over I would get another Graco.

    Heavy...but I have a 20 lb 4 month old so I'm sure that's why!

  • I have the Chicco Key fit (regular, I think the 30 is new, mine is about 1.5 years old) and the Graco Safeseat.  I like both of them and don't think you can go wrong with either, so I would probably go with the cheaper one (Graco).

Be sure to check the height limits too, because I know the graco is around 32 inches, not sure about the key fit 30, but most kids our grow the seat for height long before weight.

  • Loading the player...
  • I had the chicco and loved it. It's soooo easy to install correctly, with either latch or seat belt.

Also, it's really not safe to put the seat on the top of the grocery cart. My kids despised the infant seat, so we never really took it in places, but the few times I did, I put it in the back.

  • I have the Safe seat and got to play with the Chicco 30 last week in my cpst class.  Both are easy to install.  The Chicco goes to 30 inches and the Safe seat goes to 32 inches so you get a few more inches in the Safe seat.  My daughter just outgrew her safe seat at 21-22 mos.  I loved the Safe seat and would buy it agian.  Graco is also renameing the safe seat to the Sungride 32 so now its going to 32 lbs they are already out as a travel system only.

They are not making most car seats to not fit in the shopping carts and most stores are putting up ad things that make it hard to snap in a car seat because they are not safe to put up on the car like that.  They make the carts top heavy and can make them tip.
