Well, speakers in a car?

I got in this morning and St. Elmo's Fire was jamming on the 80's station and then..... silence.  No, the mute button wasn't on and there was complete silence.  The radio panel is showing that it was on, just no sound.

Anyone have any clue what may of happened?  Advice??

I can't drive in complete silence- it makes me crazy.

This is probably not very likely - but have you tried to start it again today? I *think* that can be a sign of the battery going kaputs?

Maybe it was a station mishap? Did you change the channel and see if they were all silent?

Assuming that the whole system is not making any sound (and it's not just a signal issue with that station) it could be a wiring issue.

A few years ago, I had a speaker stop working, and paid to have it replaced only to discover it was the wiring

Usually the owners manual will show you where the wire is located, you can try to wiggle it or tighten it. If that don't work, you will have to replace it. I'm not sure how easy that is to do it yourself tho.

How old are the speakers? The only time I have ever had that happen was when I blew out my speakers. I had to replace them all.
