I was officially diagnosed with post partum Pre-E. the past few days were hell, but I'm home with Grace and DH and trying to settle into our life as a family. While undergoing treatment at the hospital I had some real low points. I felt like my body failed me again. I was convinced that the emotional struggles of IF would go away once I held her in my arms, but struggling with postpartum pre-e made me so sick. I needed help to nurse and couldn't even hold her safely. I felt like a terrible mom.

DH has been great and now that I am on BP meds I'm doing much better.

Grace is the BEST baby. She sleeps easily and loves to BF. she only cries when she needs something (to eat, diaper change,etc). I am just so in love.

now that we are home I am confident that my emotions will calm down and we will get into a routine. As crazy as everything has been, all I can think is that I can't wait to have another one!

Welcome home! I hope you are all better really soon. The first few weeks with a newborn are super hard already without adding in a hospital stay and pre e. Go easy on yourself, you are doing a great job! Things will settle down soon.

Glad you're home and feeling better physically! It doesn't help that your hormones are all out of whack on top of the pre-e. As those level out, it will definitely help your emotions too.

Welcome home!  I'm so glad you're doing much better.  Please don't be too hard on yourself; being a new mom is HARD work and you're doing great!  I too have a number of "my body is failing me" moments but you do the best you can.

Welcome home! I have a small understanding of your situation, I had post partum hypertension. It does get better, and the meds are helpful.

I am so glad you are home and feeling better! It is difficult to focus on yourself once you are a mom, but that is exactly what you needed to do for you and that precious little girl. Try not to be so hard on yourself hon.

Yikes PennyLane!  I'm so glad they were able to get your BP under control.  I bet you are so happy to be feeling better and finally at home.

So sorry you had such a rough start to mommyhood.   But I'm so glad things are looking up!  Enjoy every moment with your angel!
