DH not onboard with Placenta Encapsulation

I have not done encapsulation with either of my first two but am really looking into having it done this time around. My DH is really disgusted by it and wonders how I could trust someone that I'm actually getting MY placenta, etc. So I have two questions really. 1. Has anyone else had to get their DH onboard, and if so, how did you do it?  and 2. How can I ensure that I'm using a reputable person? What sort of certification should I look for? I will be having a hospital birth so I will have to get my placenta myself and deliver it to the person who will do it.

Re: DH not onboard with Placenta Encapsulation

  • In addition to talking to friends, I've done online research and talked to my doctor. My doctor totally supports it and so does my doula. My DH thinks its disgusting and crazy but he supports me because of their recommendations. He also wants me to do

  • Ask a midwife! My placenta was dehydrated in my own home, so I knew what I was getting :) She came to my house, prepared it, left it over night and then came back to grind it into pill form. I had a HB, but my girl said she's done placentas for hospita

  • Thanks for the responses. I know I don't need his approval but it is just nice to be on the same page for things. I don't have any midwives in my area but I suppose I could try to contact some from around the state to see who they recommend. Unfortunately

  • I had a hospital birth and my doula did it for me. :) And I agree with not needing DH's permission, but after reading your last response I get it. My DH was all about it, but he's kind of a weirdo about those things. He said he was up for whatever help

  • 1. My dh is mostly on board with it.  He's totally grossed out, but also totally supportive.  When we talked about it he said he wants me to do it (if i want to), but asked what i thought of waiting to take them if i felt like i need them. &n
