Hi, so I am just curious if you have found that being classified in the "ama" group (lol, which is really just an awful description by the way!) changes anything about your routine ob visits etc... the nurse mentioned excitedly, that I will be able to get the Maternit21 test and find out the gender at 9-10 weeks, which until I googled I had no idea what that even was. Have you found that everything overall pretty much follows the same routine that you previously had when you were pregnant pre-ama? (I guess this may pertain more to 2nd time or more moms). Honestly except for a little more cramping this time around I feel exactly the same (this will be my third...surprise!) so I'm just curious if prenatal care is really any different.
Re: Curious how/if "ama" affects visits/tests etc.
Well, I was technically AMA with my first kid (I was 36 when she was born). I had the option to do the prenatal screens, but no one was very pushy about me getting them. I opted to do them because I wanted that peace of mind.
