School-Aged Children

Event time?

I want to plan a spring picnic for DS's preschool class on a Saturday and I'm trying to figure out what the best time of day would be. The kids are all four and five, but some have younger sibs that need to nap. I was originally thinking early, like 10am, or later, like 3pm, so that it's not smack in the middle of the day...but it's potluck, so maybe it should be around lunchtime.

Thoughts? What time of day do you prefer for events?

  • I always appreciated when events like this were planned earlier in the day rather than later.  If you start at 10, lunch can be served at 11, and by 12:30, moms with little ones who take a mid-day nap can scoot.  If you do it earlier, you can se
