head banging

DD has now started what I can only assume are little temper tantrums...if I tell her she can't have something, take something away from her, try to change her clothes when she doesn't want to be changed, won't pick her up right away, etc., etc., etc. she will squat down on the floor and purposely bang her forehead on the floor once and then look up and glare at me-she usually does it pretty hard too...sometimes afterwards she'll grab her head and start crying because it hurts.

Everything I've heard/read about temper tantrums says to ignore the behavior because she is just trying to get a reaction....well I'm starting to get a little worried that she's going to get a concussion (sp?) or something! My house is on a concrete slab so there's too not much cushion on the first floor especially when she does it on the kitchen floor. She's also done it outside on the sidewalk. Has anyone dealt with this or something similar before? Any advice?
