gall bladder issues...

anyone have experience with gallbladder issues? i think I'm having attacks as i get really bad pain under ribs on right side & near right shoulder blade. my mother is going to be having gallbladder surgery soon & my sister had hers removed a few yrs ago.  I'm going to try to change diet, not give into cravings and see if that helps 1st. any input is appreciated, tia.
