Anybody go back to work at 6mo+ postpartum?

My baby is 7.5 mo old and I'll be starting up a part time job soon.  I will work 4 hours on Friday and Saturday nights.  I'll be gone from about 5:30-10:30.

He'll take a bottle during the day if I just hand it off to him.  He currently nurses at 6, eats solids, and nurses again around 8, then bedtime routine for sleep at 8:30.  There is a dream feed at 10pm.

My DH or MIL will be watching him during this time and he's never really been babysat.  He's always with me.  So I'm trying to figure out how to transistion him to make those nights a little easier on everybody.

I thought about trying to give him a bottle for his dream feeds at 10 or should I start with the 6 or 8 pm nursing sessions?

  • I went back to work with both at 5months.  I'm not going to lie, it was a rough first few weeks.  Neither DD would take their bottle at daycare.  They would take just enough not to starve to death.  You will have the added complicat

  • Yeah, my plan it to wean out middle of the night feedings all together.  I was just able to get him drop the 4:30 am feeding in the last week.  (a few weeks ago he was still waking up every 2 hours so we've done a lot of work in a short time)

  • Oh and he does do solids.  I've been feeding him avocodo at his evening feeding since it has a higher fat/caloric content than other baby foods.  I've read on kelly's that it actually has higher calories ounce per ounce than BM.  So, I k

  • I went back to work when DD was 7 months.  The first week was really rough.  She was EBF, and we tried to transition her to the bottle before I returned to work with no success.  She basically didn't drink any milk for the first few days wh
