waking up early

OK, so I realize it could be worse as some lo's wake up time is much earlier... but up until around 12.5 months my daughters wake up time was between 7308. Then all of a sudden she started getting up at 630. And I thought well she needs to go to bed slightly later... well that backfired. She started getting up even earlier. So I was reading healthy sleep habits healthy child and it says that the most common reason for too early of a wake up time is too late bedtime... so I started putting her to bed very early read 6 for a couple nights since over the course of two months she had gotten very very overtired. She still slept til 630.

Now, I feel that's she's caught up on nighttime sleep and she's napping like a champ! An hour in the morning and around 22.5 hours in the afternoon. So last night I put her down at 730 instead of 7 her usual bedtime lately and she was up before 615 even! Along with a half hour spell in the motn of screaming and crying and ultimately motn feeding to calm her down. What gives?

Anyone have any input? I mean, it may seem silly since I'm sure some will think I have a blessing on my hands with how much she sleeps, but why can't we just move the schedule an hour later lol? I also realize it may just be a stage... but I'm just frustrated and feel like I have zero flexibility lately because we are slave to naps and bedtime

Re: waking up early

  • DS was like your daughter sleeping till 7:30 or 8 and has been waking up between 6:15 and 6:30 it sucks! I don't know if it's teething or what but I'm not a fan!

  • My LO is very sensitive to sleep schedule changes, he too will wake early if put to bed later than usual. I've got about 30mins window 15min earlier/15min later before it becomes an issue.

FWIW, I've heard that's actually very common, small chil

  • Your LO also could just be an early riser. 6:15 isn't that early, TBH.

Also, I am well aware that 630 is not all that early for most people as your LO's probably get up earlie

  • We've got an earlier to bed and early to rise DD.  We have on a couple occasions attempted to shift her schedule in 15 min intervals.  You have to move everything (meals, naps etc).  Our DD didn't take to it.  I think her internal cloc

  • We have an early riser too.  For a few months she would sleep until 7 or 7:30 which was wonderful, but now it is back to 6/6:30.  I cannot complain though because she goes to bed at 7 and sttn.  I do leave her in her crib, as long as she
