15 month old fascinated with light switches

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months
He loves flipping them on and off or likes to watch us do it while we are holding him. He smiles the whole time. Anytime we walk by one, he points to it. Do any of your LO's do this? He's pretty much interested in anything with some sort of button. Just curious if this is normal. Thanks!

    My 16-month old son LOVES lights.  He's always pointing to them, talking about them, etc.  :)  I think it's a toddler boy thing!

    Yup! My 13 month old is the same. If he is upset we take him over to a light switch and bam! He is happy.

    My daughter loves lights & ceiling fans. Before going to sleep, we carry her around and let her turn all switches off & say good night to each room. We've been doing this since month 9.

    Yep! My little girl is only 12.5 months, but she loovvess the light switches! Every time we walk past one she stretches out to try and get it. If we stop she'll keep flipping it on and off and on and off and watching the light fixture.. It is pretty fasci

    I don't know a toddler who isn't.   One of my LOs first two word sentences was "Lights On"

    Yup. Very normal, my LO went through a phase where he loved doing this. It has since subsided so we don't stand there for 20mins lol, but he still enjoys helping switch the lights on/off.

    Kids like doing stuff and seeing things happen, and being

    Oh, yes.  Switches and doors, switches and doors, switches and doors, all day long.  He's finally getting somewhat past this obsession, but he's been in love with them for months and months. 
    BFP#1 4/17/10...EDD 1/6/11...M/C 5/28/10 BFP#2 11/19/10...EDD 8/4/11 Squeaker born 7/30.

    DS has been obsessed with light switches and buttons forever. It's totally normal, and it doesn't end anytime soon!

    Yep! Mine has been turning them on or off since about 9 months (we have let him turn off his lights since then to prepare for bed as part of our routine for nap and bedtime) and is still obsessed. So fun !

    Yes, my DD does the same thing!
    After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!

    Started back on BC May, 2010; Had last shot on Aug. 2010
    TTC starting in November, 2010; Irregular cycles- went to Dr
    U/S showed cysts on both ovaries; Diag. Lap on March 1st, 2011
    Lap showed that my right fal. tube is centered, instead of to the right
    Left fal. tube is disjointed
    uterus is tilted and the size of a softball, not a pear.
    BFP on 8-30-11, 9-2-11, and 9-4-11.
    EDD is May 14, 2012. :)
    Babygirl born on April 16, 2012.

    love this thread, my son is the same way with lights and fans, and i wondered if other kids did this too.
