STM or more...please help!

I am having a very difficult time with my two kiddos in the evening. Trying to getthe older one in bed while simultaneously tending to a fussy 6 week old is really hard! I hate it but a lot of times the baby just ends up doing a lot of crying while I tend to the older one and occasionally will CIO unintentionally. Is this just how it is with the second? Any tips to help me balance things and get everyone, myself included, in bed at a decent hour?

  •  When DS2 was born I would sometimes put DS1 in bed a little early and give him a few books to look at. I would go feed lo or get him calmed down and then come back and turn out the light.
  • I sometimes bring DS2 into DS1's room when he's being particularly fussy. I set him up on a blanket with the boopy and a pacifier. We go about our bedtime routine and I pop the pacifier back in when necessary.
  • it was extremely tough in the beginning and still is sometimes but we are in a routine now. i'm home alone every night with the boys but i make it work. after dinner we have some playtime then i bathe both boys together.by then ds2 is ready for his last b

  • DS2 is basically fussy from 5 or 6 until he finally goes to sleep around 10 or 11. I wear him all through the early evening in order to get some dinner into DS1 and get the house picked up before bed. He sleeps so soundly in the carrier that I am afraid h

  • We are not much farther along than you, but DS2 is now 11 weeks old, and it has gotten easier.  Now DS2 is pretty reliable at falling asleep around 7-7:30, so we get him to sleep and then I do bedtime with DS1.  DH helps a lot with DS2 though

  • I remember laying DD2 down in her moses basket while I would wrap up bedtime routine with DD1 on nights I was flying solo. Most times, it meant DD2 would cry for a bit, but I felt that one-on-one time with DD1 was really important. Eventually though, I

  • If I don't have help for whatever reason, I set DS2 on a playmat while giving DS1 a bath. After that we all lay in DS1's bed for book and cuddles and then I nurse DS2 and put him to bed.

  • In our house:

if older one goes to bed first, then I put the baby in her car seat or in my arms while we did bed routine-I often rocked the baby with my foot.
