Please help me wean!

DS will be 2 in 2 weeks and so I figured I would go ahead and post over here. We only BF to sleep for nap and bedtime. We got in the habit and don't know how to stop. I try to just rock him but he will ask for it and cry if I don't whip it out. How do I wean him if he wants it so bad still? Any tips?

The way I reading this, you are basically trying to accomplish two things at once.  Maybe it would be easier to tackle one thing at a time?  Could you continue to BF, but do so earlier so it is not connected with sleep?  Or if he nurses to

First off, why do you want to wean?  You've made it two years.  What would happen if you went another 3 months or 6 months?  He will eventually give it up.  DD self-weaned at 27 months.

Why can't you wean to sippy cup?  I weaned at 7 month which is different but went to bottle then sippy, not hard core quitting?

I weaned DS at bedtime In an effort to get him to learn to fall asleep without nursing. All i did was decrease the time/amount slowly every 2 to 3 days until it was cut out completely.

Yeah he will let my DH put him to sleep without BFing of course but he can rarely do it. He's usually not home for nap or bedtime and even if he is DS usually wants me. Only if I'm not home will he forget about it usually. I'm not in a huge hurry but I ju
